Realised to my dismay that this sound was not available. A card tapping and scraping on a ceramic plate. Designed to imitate the noise of cocaine being cut up. Recorded on a tascam dr-40 in a 4m square kitchen. Tea towel was placed under the plate to cut out an excessive noise from the plate itself. Recorded with a low frequency cut off at 80hz.

This may be the most irritating squeak sound ever. In our office, we discovered a particular filing cabinet that squeaked if you would lean against it. It was too good to pass up. So i put my recorder in the drawer and leaned. This is the result: four squeaks of unparalleled irritation. I hope you can find a use for this in your projects.

Blood quickly escaping an open artery. (actually just me squeezing the hell out of a grapefruit). Begins with a steady spray, then ends in several loud spurts. More blood/gore fx coming soon-ish. Recorded in a studio with a sennheiser 416, very close proximity. < 1' away. Through an mbox directly into protools, edited to remove head/tail ambience. You might hear me breathing in there, very low.

I couldn't find any good giant wings flapping here, so i made my own and am now sharing them so nobody else has to! screw paying for sounds! made from a combination of pizza box lids, sheets, and a bit of sound design. You don't even have to credit me because i mean. . . Who even does that? and why? who's gonna track down a foley artist from the credits of a show for a random sound? just check out the sonic realms podcast if you like audiodramas and role playing games; there's nothing else like it. That's something i would appreciate. But only if you feel like it. Enjoy and use the hell outta the totally free sound!.

This was recorded as foley for a sound design / composition contract i took for a theatre company. We needed a train sound to signify crates of dead soldiers being shipped back from the front lines, to be processed and fed to soldiers holding encampants behind the lines. It was recorded in an arcade adjoining outbuildings of a factory converted to studio and office spaces. I excused myself from rehearsal to catch the recording shortly after learning a woman i'd been seeing for about a year was through with our relationship. I won an award in composition and sound design for the work i did for the play.

I did some swishes myself using a spiral hose; i needed them for specific situations in video editing and the bamboo swishes i found here on freesound were too fast and strong. The flexible spiral hose made for some nice and slower swishes; some of the 16 sounds build up a little, some are very fast and strong, some soft and gentle. A whole pack for you to use. Recorded with a tascam dr-05 stereo (the movement always went from left to right); a little noise reduction in audacity.

Faucet in a metal sink turned on and off. Hands are run through the water to simulate hand washing. Recorded in a tokyo apartment with a coincidental mic pair placed at a 90 degree angles it's basically a raw recording, but i ran an ssl hpf with the cutoff set at about 28 hz to take out the rumble of the train passing by. . . Since the apartment was near the station, the train sound was unavoidable. But if this is used in a larger mix, it probably won't be noticeable.

Been downloading off this site for ages and thought i'd give something i recorded back. I drank from a glass bottle by a mic to recreate a character in a film drinking some beer from a glass bottle. A small sound but in those quiet scenes i think noises like this make all the difference. Done on my olympus dm5 recorder that i use for last minute foley. Hooray i'm finally on here!.

After spending a weekend putting together a giant wardrobe (from everyones favourite swedish furniture store) for my girlfriend i thought i should reward myself by making some recordings of it. This is a close mic recording of the sliding door, i followed the top of the door (where there was the most interesting sound) the full length of the wardrobe as i opened/closed the door. For this recording i used my sennheiser mkh416 going into a sound devices mp-1 preamp and recorded to a tascam dr-680.

An ice storm moves in to the deep woods of north carolina on 01/30/2014. As the small particles of ice and sleet fall through the pine trees, they land on a bed of pine straw on the ground below. This is that sound. It's cold, solitary, and gives you a feeling of total isolation. Enjoy!. Christopher c. Courter.

Five minutes of rain, artificially created. Using a blue yeti usb condenser mic on the cardioid pattern, i made a 30-minute recording of sounds from my sink (drips, splashes, different faucet pressures) and cut them up into 60 files, later edited down to 20. These were layered together and mixed with white, pink, and brownian noise. Slight noise removal done. Recorded some basic mic noise, and used a subtractive processor (reafir in reaper) to remove that sound from the final mix. Convolution reverb was added for a fairly realistic set-it-and-forget-it option. I've uploaded a dry version as well.

Hubcap rolling away from a car crash and rattling and clanging as it comes to rest. Actually, i needed the sound of a hubcap to add to an auto accident crash sfx and recorded this pot lid in my basement using my laptop computer, audacity, and an inexpensive condenser mic. Hubcap2 is the pot lid rattling around and coming to rest on the linoleum covered floor in my basement. (the mic was closer to the pot lid for hubcap2. ).

Recording of a door being opened and closed, and then opened and closed again. Very slight footsteps (on carpet) can be heard. The microphone (sennheiser mkh-50) was intentionally placed about 5 feet away from the door so as to capture some of the natural room sound/reverb (which is very subtle). I have another recording available of the exact same door and mic setup, but aimed slightly off-axis to capture just a bit more room sound. Recorded into a tascam 208i audio interface and into adobe audition. Very minor processing (low-cut at 80hz to remove low-freq rumble).

A second attempt at recording the deep mud i keep finding myself walking through each morning on walthamstow marshes. This recording was made using a sound devices mixpre6ii and a stereo pair of fel em172 mics (connected to a bent wire clothes hanger and positioned about 30cm above my feet). Processing: normalize -1. 0db, low cut filter 100hz, minor noise reduction to reduce background traffic/train noise. I do not require any credit or attribution. If any of these sounds have been of help, and you are feeling charitable, please do consider donating to freesound to help keep the site running (a link is also on the home page). As a homage to freesound. Org for being a member for over 7 years under the name "djeuphoria", i present the freesound community with some unique sounds i've created recently using loads of different plugins and synthesizers that i've been acquiring over the years that has slowly turned into a massive collection. So with that being said i'm going to be periodically adding sounds to my "dream sample pack" so you can all hear the sounds i've been creating under my new nickname "dream", thank you all for the downloads, its awesome to see how terrible my sound quality was and how much i've improved from that, enjoy these awesome synth sounds i've engineered, cheers. -dreamp. S, most of the melodic sounds are recorded in the key of c for convenience and all foley sounds are recorded with a zoom h4 at 44khz.

Clean recording of water being poured into a metal pot, meant to emulate the sound of water being poured into a kettle/teapot. Would work for pouring any liquid into almost any metal container (metal containers give off a subtle "twang" that isn't generally produced when pouring into other material containers such as glass, ceramic, plastic, wood, etc). Recorded with an akg p170 into a zoom f8n at 48khz, 24-bit. No processing of any kind applied.

I've been recording some sounds for a an upcoming project which led me to recording the underside of the lid of a salad spinner and dangling a small plastic tab on it as it spun. It wasn't my intention but it sounds a bit like an old film projector. You can get some interesting results with this clip by messing a bit with the eq which is what i'll be doing for the finished project. This recording was made using a sound devices mixpre6ii and a stereo pair of fel em172 mics. Low cut on the sd which in basic mode is 80hz (i think). There is no processing to this recording other than to ‘normalize’ the levels. I do not require any credit or attribution. I'm doing some ww1 commemorative stuff and couldn't find any marching on freesound. So here's my effort: 25s of medium pace marching on gravel, made from a few freesound samples mixed and retimed to match the pace. It's a very bright, close-mic sound, with wide stereo spread. It should loop seamlessly. So this is a composite made from:60076__sinatra314__footsteps-in-gravel-loop109487__tomlija__11-footsteps-on-the-gravel213307__taira-komori__walking-on-the-earth. I've retimed them all to be roughly in synch, added a multitap delay to boost the numbers of feet and some eq to give more of an impression of space.

Clean, dry recording of a smartphone touchscreen being rapidly tapped as if a message was being written on it. Could just as easily be used as sounds from using (writing, playing mobile games, browsing, etc) a tablet or really any relatively small touchscreen device. Tapping speed and length between taps varies throughout the recording, but overall i tried to make it sound as natural as possible while still offering options for more granular placement. Recorded with an akg p170 into a tascam 208i audio interface at 48khz/24-bit. Microphone was positioned 5-6 inches away from source. A 120hz high-pass filter was applied to remove unnecessarily pronounced bass frequencies.

I recorded the sound of my wooden, squeaky screen door opening and then bouncing shut with a couple bangs. You can hear the squeak of the hinges as the door is opened, then again as it starts to close. The stretching and retraction of the spring is slightly noticeable. The door bounces a couple times as it closes, and you can also hear the latch rattling at this time. Recorded with audacity on my computer using a cheap, hand-held piezo mic. (i recorded this for use in a theatrical play i was working on [ daddy's dyin'. . . Who's got the will? ] because i couldn't find anything suitable elsewhere. ).

(recorder: zoomh4npro 2018)(microphones: binaural roland cs-10em in-ear monitors). As these are recorded using binaural in-ear mics, i purposefully don't turn my head to keep the sound clean and coming from the same direction. The amtrak pacific surfliner winds it'd way up and down the pacific coast coast. This train is known for spectacular coastal views. Here you can hear this high-speed train come screaming through burbank's downtown station (traffic can be heard on i-5 in the distance). You will hear a security guard walk behind me just before the train comes through. He was one of our trusty transpo officers making sure i wasn't up to no good with my zoomh4n device. Thanks for keeping us all safe officers!. The train makes a pass from right to left and i kept recording so you would have some room-tone at the tail. Enjoy!. Christopher c. Courter.

Tape being wound out and drawn back in. 01:36 - 03:30milwaukee m12 battery drill. Trigger being pressed, chuck opening and closing and bits being changed. Drilling into timber. Driving screws into the timber and removing them again. 03:32 - 05:14lie nielsen crosscut tenon saw cutting across the grain of the timber. 05:17 - endgeneral purpose wood saw 'ripping' along the grain of the timber.
